OUR EXTERIOR ENVELOPE INSPECTION

Upon your request, CCG can provide an inspector to inspect your exterior envelope for any stucco cracks, heaving and any other stucco defects in your home. Stucco cracks can happen very easily over time due to the natural minute movement on the foundation of your home and the humid climate affecting the strength of the stucco bond. There are several other ways cracking may occur in your home, which is normal, but should be taken care of very quickly to prevent water, dirt or other chemicals from getting under the stucco. Stucco is a good product to keep moisture on the outside of the home, but once painted (depending on the product) it is also good at keeping moisture in, causing decay and further heaving of the stucco.

IMPORTANCE OF STUCCO REPAIR

Stucco is very much like the “armor” of your house. The wood can become fragile as it absorbs dirt, water and many other chemicals that affect its strength. Imagine a small crack in the stucco that is not very noticeable so fixing it won’t seem like a priority. That crack, over time, will grow bigger. As the gap gets larger, more water and dirt are prone to sneak in. Your wood or block will absorb chemicals and moisture causing rot or mildew. This can happen easily because just enough air is getting in and not enough getting out. The rest of the house is covered in stucco, holding the moisture in as well as keeping it out. By this time that little crack of yours has started heaving, or separating from the house. Simply filling it in with elastomeric stucco patching compound will not do the trick. You might have to re-stucco the entire side of your home. If there was a maintenance plan to protect your home from getting that far in damage, you might see yourself easily saving 90% of costs, which is why we offer home care maintenance.

WHY YOU MIGHT WANT TO REPAINT YOUR HOME

If you have had stucco repairs or other coating repairs, repainting your home will be a very helpful option for the strength of those repairs and overall strength of your home. The exterior paint of your home is another layer to protect the stucco from deteriorating or being effected by chemicals. We can also apply a clear sealant after painting to add even another coat of protection. Your paint defines the character of your home. We offer many product choices with multiple manufacturers to choose from and a variety of colors to suit your décor. If you live in a community governed by a Home Owners Association, please be sure to get your colors approved prior to painting.
